HIGH ACHIEVING BLACK WOMEN

I CURATE SPACES FOR BLACK WOMEN TO BE HELD, TO BE SEEN, AND LEARN HOW TO FEEL SAFE IN THEIR BODIES

Black women are conditioned from birth to surrender and erase ourselves to live in service of others, to save our families, and rescue our communities. We often find ourselves caught in the complex social web of the Black superwoman syndrome. We gotta be strong, keep it together, and look good while we’re grinding – juggling careers, relationships, parenting, and caregiving. We take on the problems of others as if they were our own. We suppress our emotions and parts of ourselves to stay in relationships and keep our jobs – we can’t be too loud, too angry, too hard, or too much. Underneath the façade, you yearn to be soft, authentic, maybe even vulnerable – to feel safe in your body.

I am particularly passionate about helping high-achieving Black women who are

  • Exhausted from people pleasing and reflexively pouring into everybody else while leaving yourself with nothing…

  • Fighting tears, overriding your emotions, ignoring messages from your body, and doing everything you can to keep it together…

  • Constantly operating out of survival to exist in environments that were not made for you…

  • Experiencing physical symptoms like headaches, high blood pressure, fatigue, disrupted sleep, disordered eating…

A woman who heals herself moves with ease and confidence while she silently invites healing to everyone around her. She walks a new path toward light and possibility…her healing opens space for others to show up in their fullness to do the same.

ADULTS OVER 25

I work with adults over 25 who are navigating life with unresolved emotional and mental pain and stress that has trouble finding a relational home in which it can be held. Your pain shows up like an uninvited that just won’t leave. It shows up without warning in waves of sadness, irritability, uncontrollable worry, grief, resentment, or confusion. Sometimes the stress is accompanied by physical symptoms like headaches, disordered eating, high blood pressure, fatigue, disrupted sleep or physical pain.

The impact of trauma and chronic stress affects the relationship you have with yourself, your partner, your children, family, colleagues, and friends. Together we explore how relational and social trauma and stress impact the nature of who you are and who you are being at any moment, your physical health, and the outcomes you want to achieve. All of this leaves you feeling some type of way…

INCREMENTAL CHANGE LEADS TO TRANSFORMATION

Our therapeutic journey is designed for you to learn how to feel safe in your body while supporting the development of discernment that allows you to take a clear and sober view of your life.

In our work together we

  • Slow down, curate spaces for reflection, and create opportunities to know ourselves more fully, connect with others more deeply, and live life with more safety
  • Explore, acknowledge, and own the truth of your experiences – the things you have been actively trying to stay away from. You learn how to tolerate feeling what you feel and without being swept away or shut down.
  • Develop the resources to gain freedom from repeating the same painful patterns and to live life differently

If you are ready to prioritize your needs, your emotional, mental and physical health, and live into your full self, reach out for a no-cost consultation to begin your healing journey.
